Your Area Rug resource online
You can create quick wall art with this easy method for hanging decorative
area rugs on a wall. If you want to hang a rug on your wall be careful,
particularly if the rug is expensive. The method that has the slightest
probability of damaging the rug is to use a strip of carpet tacks, which
flooring installers call “smooth edge”, it is usually nailed to the floor
around the perimeter of a room to hold wall to wall carpet in place. You want
to buy a strip of smooth edge and cut it to the width of the rug at what will
be the top end, you can cut it yourself or have the store were you purchased
it cut it for you. Wear gloves to protect your hands, use screws to attach the
strip to wall with the tacks pointing up, you can use a stud finder to locate
the wall studs which is were you want to screw into if the rug is heavy or you
can use toggle bolts. A level will help to install the strip properly so the
rug hangs straight. You hang the rug by pressing it firmly against the tacks,
which will hold it securely on the wall. If the rug has a fringe you can just
turn it under on the top and if you also want to hide the bottom fringe you
can turn it up and use duct tape to attach it to the back.
